HAUL | Birthday Haul

Halo semua,

*ngakak dulu* Rasanya blog ini jadi kumpulan tulisan haul saya nih. Gimana kalau judul blognya diganti jadi haul center aja?

Kenapa setengah-baru? Baca di [ sini ] aja lengkapnya yaa! ;)

Penulis Adhitya Mulya
Penerbit Gagasmedia
Shop bukabuku.com [ here ]
Harga IDR 38.400,- (after discount)
Rate 4/5 at Goodreads

Berhasilkah Satya mengembalikan keharmonisan rumah tangganya bersama Rissa?

BOOK | Magical Seira 4: Sand Castle by Sitta Karina

Penulis Sitta Karina
Penerbit Buah Hati
Shop bukabuku.com [ here ]
Harga IDR 28.000,- (after discount)
Rate 3/5 at Goodreads

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Choosing What to Read Next (Day-10)

Alright, 10th day, everyone! :D 5 more and we're done. Wish me luck ;)

Anywaaaays, in this 10th post, the question is about the way to choose the next book to read. Well, I've never thought there's such thing like a special method to choose what to read next, until I joined this challenge. LOL! :D

So, as you can guess, this kinda concept is purely new to me. And I don't think I have a specific way on choosing the next book to read. Or maybe I do?

When I bought a lot of books from a bookstore, I tend to read the thinnest one first. Usually comic books, then moved to the thin book and the thickest book will be the last to read.

And when I bought books with different languages, I tend to choose the Indonesian books first. I don't know, I guess the idea to read something in my mother-language is somehow comforting. So, Indonesian it is.

This case makes me some kinda 'abandon' the English books I've bought before the Indonesian books. I have some books I bought from Periplus couple years a go and haven't read them till now :p Just because I have more interesting Indonesian books I just bought and they're more comfortable to read than the English ones LOL!

Alright, that's my way (or excuse?) in choosing the next book to read. Do you have a special method or maybe a list   like to-be-read list in a certain order   for choosing what to read next? Spill some! ^^

Have a nice day! :)

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Why Blog About Books (Day-9)

Oh my God, this is not as easy as I thought it would be! Writing the 9th post feels difficult since I have to divide my time with my other blog and office last week was getting busier. Ugh! -_-*

But now, since I'm rather slow with office and my schedule for my beauty blog is done (at least for last week), I've decided to write here   to complete what I put off last week.

Today question is "Why do you blog about books?".

Well, I'm actually not a specialized blogger as in book blogger in this blog, Treasure Bag. I am a beauty blogger, but book blogger? Nah, I'm more like a book enthusiast. I like to read and share, but not as detail as I write about a beauty post LOL! :p

However, since sometimes I also write about books here, then there must be a reason behind it, right?

I like reading books, everybody who knows me well will know about this thing. Especially when they visit my house or stalk my Goodreads account :p But write about books in my blog is something new, to be honest. I get to share what I've read or (most of the time) what I've bought from the bookstores :D And that's fun! So fun.

I started to write book reviews years ago I couldn't even remember exactly when. I even started a review blog about books, movies and music but it didn't last long and I deleted it in the end. Because I couldn't keep up with it. End of the story.

Anyway, I maintain to continue what-so-called reviewing books here in Treasure Bag after reading Stefanie Sugia's blog, Bookie Looker. Somehow it motivated me to keep writing about books. And it also helps me escaping for a boredom of my beauty blog #Oops :p

Writing about books, specifically, has helped me to get back on my old hobby. I used to buy a lot of books and read them immediately (mostly) on the weekend. But as I grow older, this hobby is less likely to happen. Since I tend to go hangout with my boyfie or doing a photo shoot for my beauty blog in my spare time.

And now, I'm motivated to share what I've read (and bought, still LOL!) here on the blog because I have something to do other than photo-shooting for my beauty blog or write a review about a product. And writing about what I love (books) is fun, especially if the books are really good, that would be a plus and makes me write (or type, in this case) even faster ;)

I don't actually go out much, I go out when my boyfie asks me out or I need to go shopping something. So, aside from my full-time job, I spend most of my time blogging (and doing everything related to it). I got bored doing my beauty blog sometimes, since I write regularly and almost become a daily routine. You know, sometimes I just feel tired to do the same thing over and over again.

Then I need an escape, and there where blogging about something else lies; my other blog. Therefore, I decided to write about books since that's what I've been doing (and kinda on hiatus in a really really really long time) all this time ;) Yes, book blogging is my escape.

***

Alright, how bout you? Why do you blog or write about books on your blog? Do you have the same reason as I do? Go tell! :D

HAUL | First Online Book Shopping Spree

Belanja di bukabuku.com ini banyak dramanya. Lah kok?

Awalnya saya beli 4 buku. Nah, setelah hampir seminggu menanti, ternyata buku bener-bener out of stock.

Eh lah kok ternyata nasibnya sama kayak sebelumnya, udah nunggu lama juga dan bukunya out of stock.

Finally! :D

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | 15 Interesting Things on Blogs (Day-8)

It's not easy to write these 15 things quickly, while the things I really pay attention the most are basically only half of them. In random order.

Since I have to write them fast, no space for deep thinking. My brain is smokin' here! ;) Alright, here we go, I hope I'm not being a snob: (LOL!)

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Blogging Quirks (Day-7)

7th day! Wohoooo! :D

Boy it's not easy, as I thought it would be. Today's theme is what kinda habit I possessed during blogging. Well, I've been running this blog around 4 (or maybe 5?) years but yet it gained pageviews not more than a rookie. What a shame. Yeah.

Anywaaaayy, after several years of what-so-called-blogging, I finally now realize my vibe to blog. I blog (kinda) regularly these days since I own a themed blog (it's a beauty blog, FYI), which ease me to find inspiration. Because it's so easy, the topic each day is already set and I just have to be encouraged to write based on the schedule I've already made.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | How I Shop For Books (Day-6)

The most favorite part of this challenge! Shopping! :D

Book shopping is even more relaxing than makeup hauling, for me ;) I don't know, I think it's because shopping for books has been an old activity I've learned since I was a little kid and makeup shopping just happened quite recently for the last couple years of being a young-adult.

Going shopping is divided into two kind of way; online and offline. I kinda do both. I just have to consider which way is cheaper LOL! ;)

To make this post more useful (and longer), I'm gonna write where I go shop for books as well. Here comes the list...

OFFLINE
Gramedia
This is the first bookstore I've ever been to. My dad used to take me here when I wanted to do some book haul when I was a little girl. But today, I go to this bookstore everytime I visited a mall with this shop in it :D Gramedia is the place where I can find books which aren't sold in Togamas. This bookstore is so big it sells so many books from so many publishers, even the small ones. You can get any kind of books here. You can find imported books and magazines as well but not many.

Togamas
Or Petra Togamas  the branch which I often pay a visit, is the bookstore which claimed its self as A Bookstore with Discounts ("Toko Buku Diskon" in Indonesian). It has quite a complete collection of books, almost as many as Gramedia. Too bad I can't find some books from certain publishers in this bookstore. This bookstore is my favorite because it gives you quite a generous discount for all books. No, not that little 5% or 10%. It starts from 15% and the biggest I've got was 50%. For all books you can find in the store. It sells imported books recently but not the popular nor the new ones, but it sells the latest imported magazines. You can get teenVOGUE and TIME in this bookstore.

Periplus
I always wanna buy something from this store since I was a kid. My dad said that this store sells English books which I couldn't read by my self at that time. And even as a teenager (with obviously a poor English understanding) I wanted to buy something from this cozy place, but I couldn't because the price range is still out of my league. Now, things get better (ehem!) and I have my own salary (which I can spend on anything I want #Oops), I finally can buy something from this store :D It held Year-End Book Sale annually and I never miss a chance to pay a visit every year for that special days ;)

ONLINE
bukabuku.com
I don't actually enjoy purchasing books online since the feel of touching and picking up various kind of books (and put them back in :p) is irreplaceable. However, there are times when purchasing books out of physical bookstore get even cheaper and I just can't miss that LOL! :D bukabuku is the first online bookstore I've ever purchased from. It has good service and web system (the tools are easy, user-friendly) and they offer quite a great deal for some books.

periplus.com
I prefer buy books through real physical bookstore, as I said earlier. However, sometimes online bookstore has great better deal when it comes to Sale. Bugger! periplus.com offers more discounted books than the physical stores. Therefore, I often drool over some books with huge amount of sale tag on it :D I've purchased from the web once and what makes me worry is the shipping estimation. It's exaggerating in my opinion. I bought a book (on Sale) and the estimation was around 3 weeks, it's like purchasing from Amazon or overseas. I've asked about this on Periplus' Twitter and he/she said it's because the book needs time to arrive in Jakarta's headquarter. While I thought it's ready stock, here, in our beloved country. And turned out that I've only waited for regular 3-5 days of shipping. What the heck was the 3 weeks for?!

***

In the end, wherever the bookstores are, as long as it offers great deal, I'd be happy to spend time wandering around and purchase some ^^

How about you?
Do you have any favorite bookstores?
Do you prefer online or offline bookstores?

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Recommend A Tear Jerker (Day-5)

Hello,

It's the fifth-day, yay! :D 30% of the challenge has been done. Glad I can make it this far hihihi

Anyway, the topic for today's challenge is Recommend Tear Jerker. Honestly, I never cry when I read books. But if you ask me of recommended tear jerker for movies, I've got tons of it :D

Well, since it's about books, I have to be very selected since I barely cry on even sad ending or sad story on books :D These books below have touchy story and they almost made me cry for reading it. I got too emotional and it made me sad. Alright, let's see what I've compiled so far...

15 Day Book Blogging Challenge | The Last Book I Flung Across The Room (Day-4)

The first thing I thought when I saw the fourth topic for 15 Day Book Blogging Challenge this time was what?? Fling a book across the room? Are you crazy? Why??

First of all, I'm not really sure what the theme really means. And second, I have a guess but again, not quite sure if that's what the topic supposed to mean. After a short read in Stefani's blog post about this fourth-day challenge, I came into a conclusion that the theme I've guessed before is not wrong LOL! :p

Well, I never actually throw any books, let alone fling it across the room. No matter how dissappointed I am with the book. You know that I always keep all my books in a good condition, so throw it to the wall/the floor just because I hate the story is not worth it. It will harm the book, it gets ugly and I buy most of my books lately with my own money. If I didn't keep it well then I'd be wasting my money, right? ;)

Anyway, there're some books that makes me wanna fling it across the room. Well, not literally, for sure. Mostly because I was dissappointed on how the story ends or I think that I spent my cash on a terrible story. Here they are:

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
(translated version)

I know that this book is a superstar. Got associated with several popular assassinations and honestly, it intrigued me to buy this book in the first place ;) But, turned out that the story is not that special or eye-opening or anything like that. It's quite absurd for me and I had a hard time following where the plot took me to. I haven't read the original version (English), but it's kinda impossible if the story got uglier (than the original) because of bad translation, don't you think?

Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote
(translated version)

If you're a fan of Pop Culture, this book might be in your popular reference of what's hit now and then ;) Yep, there's a movie adaptation (Audrey Hepburn was so iconic with her black dress and the sunnies and the big hat) of this book and I don't really see what the story is all about. Not from the book, not from the movie. Again, I feel like following an absurdness of a main character :/ And again, is it because of terrible translation? No? The only thing I care about in this book (or movie) is the cat :3 #CatLady

***

I'm quite cranky when it comes to translation since I automatically search for the English words when I found weird phrases used in a sentence in translated version books. So, I think translation may takes part in delivering the story in real way or not.

How about you? What makes you wanna throw a book in an anger    the story? the ending? or maybe the price? ;)

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Blogging BFFs (Day-3)

Wohoo!

Third day, people! Alright, today we're gonna talk about blogging BFFs. Well, I've never met any of my favorite bloggers or any bloggers whose blogs I've read regularly (or randomly LOL!).

I've once met Trinity   she's a travel blogger, by the way   but I met her in a Meet & Greet kinda event with many other people :D So it can't be said that she's my blogging BFF, right? Other than that, I don't have any special relationship with other bloggers to be honest. We might be friends but not too deep as a best friend in real life :)

Trinity and my BFF, Sinta :)
However, I have a best friend who happens to be a blogger as well. She's my high school fella and we've been best mate ever since :') Her name is Sinta and you can peek on her travelling journey in her blog [ here ]. She likes to travel, obviously but she also likes to read books :D

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Bed Time Reading Ritual (Day-2)

There's not much to talk about in this topic, to be honest. I didn't really read book before going to bed, my reading routine actually can be anytime.

You know, most people these days prefer to scrolling on their social media accounts rather than reading an actual book. Me is no exception LOL! :D Since I don't need extra lighting from the lamp to read, the handphone has already got its own lighting, and yet it's not heavy :p

Therefore, reading books is not a part of my bedtime ritual. I sleep with the lights off and the switch button is far away from my bed, it would take an extra courage to reach there (just to switch off the light) when you're extremely sleepy or tired, wouldn't it? ;)

However, reading books before sleeping is actually kinda relaxing. Sometimes I read book several hours before my bed time (lying on the livingroom couch). So, when I'm really sleepy, I'll put down the book and head to my bedroom. This way, I don't have to go through the complicated dilemma of "switching off the lamp because the button is too far away" anymore :D

How about you? Do you have any bedtime reading ritual?

Reading Habits Tag

Found this tag on my favorite book-blogger's blog, Stefani Sugia (as usual LOL!). And I've decided to give it a go since I couldn't remember the last time I did a book-related tag :D

This tag was originally started by The Book Jazz on Youtube (the video dated 3 years ago. Gosh I'm so late about this!). Well, I never know that book-thing can be uploaded to Youtube as well. This is amazing! :D

Anyway, if you wanna do this tag, be my guess. You can pick up the questions here on my post or on The Book Jazz's Youtube channel, it's all up to you. Meanwhile, enjoy my answers! ^^

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Confession (Day-1)

Hi everyone,

Since I'm kinda (back) in for books lately and decided to start reading more books instead of wandering the internet with no specific destination #Oops, so I guess I'm gonna give this book-challenge a go. I found it (again) in Stefani Sugia's blog, The Bookie-Looker and it seems fun to do :D

I'm not a book blogger but since this challenge is kinda fun and looks different to me, I've decided to give it a try. However, I run two different blogs at the moment and I also have a full-time job, so I guess I'm not gonna post 15 days in a row but I'll make sure to do the all 15 posts. Wish me luck! *finger-crossed* :D

Here's the complete list of the 15 themes you gotta write as a challenge:

If you decided to join, you can use those list above as a guidance for the rest 15 days ahead ;) Oh, almost forget, this challenge was made by Good Books and Good Wine. Go pay a visit, will you? ;)

Alright, let's start challenge Day-1! :D

HAUL | Stationary Craze

HAUL | Book Stores Reunion

Masih hangat di ingatan tentang mini haul saya di Gramedia yang saya tulis minggu lalu [ here ] and it was sooooo good to be back visiting Gramedia and went a little crazy in there :D Trus akhir minggu lalu juga saya pergi ke 2 toko buku andalan saya, yaitu Petra Togamas dan Periplus.

Book Stores Reunion
Kenapa andalan?
