Setiap musim panas tiba, Ronnie (Miley Cyrus) dan adiknya, Scott (Hallock Beals), dikirim ibunya (Kelly Preston) untuk mengunjungi sang ayah (Greg Kinnear) yang tinggal terpisah di tepi pantai. Sejak kedua orangtua mereka bercerai, Ronnie dan Scott akan menghabiskan summer di rumah ayahnya. Sejak perceraian itu pula Ronnie tidak pernah suka dengan ide mengunjungi-ayah-di-musim-panas. Ia benci ayahnya yang pergi meninggalkannya dan mengasingkan diri di tepi pantai begini.

Namun musim panas ini berbeda, Ronnie dihadapkan pada sebuah fakta pahit bahwa ayahnya mengidap kanker paru-paru kronis dan hidupnya divonis tidak akan lama. Perasaan bersalah pun perlahan merayapi Ronnie, sepanjang musim panas ia telah bersikap tidak ramah pada ayahnya, bahkan merusak liburan adik yang disayanginya. Apa yang akan dilakukan Ronnie? Apakah ia akan selamanya membenci sang ayah? Bahkan sampai ajal menjemput ayahnya itu?

Sebuah kisah drama dengan sedikit bumbu romance yang sukses membuat saya sembab tengah malam (ya, karena saya nontonnya menjelang pagi buta hehe). Akting Miley di sini bener-bener ok, karena menurut saya karakter yang diperankan Miley dalam film ini nggak jauh beda dengan Hannah Montana. Meskipun tokoh Ronnie tidak menonjolkan sisi komedi namun somehow saya melihat Miley tidak akan kesulitan memerankan karakter ini karena, yah, tidak jauh beda dengan Hannah Montana, gaya bicaranya sama dan sedikit komikal. Kalau menurut saya sih, itu udah Miley banget :D *ketauan kalau fans-nya MC*

Well, buat penggemar drama romance film ini patut ditonton deh. Apalagi buat yang suka banget sama film yang temanya tentang ayah, ini film wajib buat kalian. Kenapa saya nangis to the core nonton film ini? Ya simply karena ceritanya tentang father and daughter. I'm my father's daughter :D

Oh anyway, soundtrack-nya juga nggak kalah ok lho. Didominasi oleh band-band alternatif yang keren abis dan pastinya ok buat didengerin sambil baca buku atau sambil jalan, selain itu juga ada beberapa lagu yang dinyanyiin sendiri oleh Miley. Cool to have lah pokoknya! :D

A little surprise

It was on Friday, when I, just as usual stucked in a calm morning at the office because we had nothing to do. Well, at least not yet. I didn't expect to have something special that day, all I wanna do was just go home. Nothing more. I wanna grab my weekend as soon as possible.

And worse, there're so many of my friends decided to not going to office and went somewhere else. So, I stayed in the office firstly with a friend who will go delivering a document 2 hours after I got arrived, then not so long a friend come after that. The official staffs, oh they got something else to do than just mingle with the interns ;] The circumtenses wasn't getting better after all. We didn't really had an office thing to do. Seriously.

Then I decided to just check the pencils, suddenly Mia asked me something.

Mia: Do you have an appointment with mbak Anty today?
Me: No... why?
Mia: (quiet a moment) I think you'll get a surprise. Oops... I shouldn't say that. It won't be a surprise anymore then!
Me: What surprise? No way. Oh the girls are giving Puspa's birthday gift today, right?
Mia: Yeah...

And suddenly a staff came by and brought a few dozens of envelopes. Finally, a job! We were told to pick out the good ones, at least we did something. After that, I asked the staff about what to do with the bad condition envelopes, and she told me to put it in Hope (a room's name), it's a room to put the test and office related stuffs.

I was just going back to the work room when I saw a black car driving in the parking lot in front of the building. A familiar one. I recognized it from a symbol that sticked on the front glass. At the same time someone entered the building and I asked whether she need to meet someone, she wanted to meet a staff in the office. So, I walked back to the staff office first to tell the one who asked me to bring the bad envelopes to the Hope, that she got someone to meet and then I immediately ran to Mia.

Me: Mia, why mbak Anty is here?
Mia: Hah?
Me: That's the car in the parking lot, isn't it? I think it's mas Ridzki's car. There's Autonomic's symbol in the front glass. Do you have an appointment with her?
Mia: (look confused) Really?

And I continued checking the pencils while Mia walked out the office and went check what I just told her. When she got back, she told me to check outside my self. And when I looked at the parking lot when the car was parked, I saw nothing. Then I started asking my self, "Where is it??" I even started to think I was just, you know, hallucinated. I was freaked out a bit at the time. But then, I saw the car when I turned right. It parked right next to Mia's car.

Mia: Here they are... let's meet them.
Me: Why? Do you think they're here to meet me? I don't have any appointment with both of them.

But then I just walked slowly following Mia, mbak Anty got out the car with a package in her hand. And she gave the package to me, Mia start clapping and singing Happy Birthday song.

IT WAS A REAL SURPRISE!!! OH MY GOD!!!

The package was square and tough, I bet it was a CD. I almost yelling to ask them whether the CD is Demi Lovato's latest album or what, but then I hold my self. Mbak Anty told me to open it right away, get the picture of it and tell the girls immediately! Oh great, it's a pleasure to do anyway :]

Mia was kindly doing a favor for me. She helped me taking the pictures and I can't say anything else but thank you so much and I heart you all sistaaa! :D


The gift was, yes, a CD and it's not like what I expected, it's NEW MOON original soundtrack. Doesn't mean I feel dissapointed or what, it's even better!!! It means I don't have to buy it by my self. FYI, I planned to buy it after office. That day. So, I'm so grateful :]


Oh well, I used the money to treat Mao 4 packs of Whiskas and I bought my self and my little brother some DVDs. What a great day!

Though I already wrote this on Twitter, but I'd like to make it official here. I wanna say thanks to all BLM sistas, you guys really know how much I love surprise ;]

Hannah Montana the Movie

Miley mulai suka bertingkah, bersikap seenaknya dan mulai menjadi seperti bukan Miley. Miley, seperti terlalu lama hidup menjadi Hannah Montana sehingga ia lupa jati dirinya sendiri. Sang ayah, Billy, menyadari hal itu. Sehingga ia membawa putrinya itu ke tempat di mana ia dibesarkan, Tenesse.

Miley pun berang karena sang ayah malah membawanya ke nowhere-in-the-world dan bukannya mengantarkannya ke New York di mana ia seharusnya tampil untuk sebuah show. Miley ngambek dan bersikeras ingin pulang ke California. Ia ingin hidupnya kembali.

Tetapi di Tenesse, Miley bertemu kembali dengan teman semasa kecilnya, Travis. Yang sekarang sudah tumbuh dewasa and of course looks cute!

Di Tenesse lah Miley harus berjuang menyelamatkan reputasinya, tak ada yang tahu dirinya adalah sang superstar Hannah Montana kecuali keluarga dekatnya dan sang sahabat, Lily. Sehingga ia bolak-balik berganti identitas dan dandanan ketika Travis mengajaknya kencan dan Hannah Montana diundang dalam sebuah acara makan bersama oleh pengusaha lokal dalam hari dan jam yang sama.

Sampai akhirnya identitasnya ketahuan oleh Travis. Dan semua berjalan semakin buruk ketika semua orang memarahinya karena sikapnya yang buruk ketika acara makan bersama. Miley pun akhirnya membuat keputusan besar, di hadapan semua fansnya dan di hadapan semua orang dalam konser yang digelar di Tenesse.

Apakah keputusan besar itu? Lalu bagaimana hubungan Miley dengan Travis?



Saya tahu saya sangat terlambat menonton film ini, tapi saya nggak tahan untuk tidak menulis review-nya sekarang. Saya kangen dengan humor-humor segar ala Miley Cyrus, saya sudah lama sekali tidak menonton serial TV-nya lagi. Jadi, film ini benar-benar menjadi penghilang dahaga saya akan tayangan yang benar-benar menghibur.

Secara keseluruhan, film ini sangat bagus ditonton bareng keluarga. Ceritanya, tipikal Miley dan Billy sekali. Keduanya memang dekat sebagai 'Father and Daughter', dan itu bisa jadi contoh yang baik bagi penonton yang mayoritas berusia sama atau lebih muda. Selain itu, ada juga love story antara Miley dan Travis yang sangat manis dan sederhana. Just sooo sweet, you know what I'm saying?

Di luar pesan-pesan yang dibawa kisah ini, Hannah Montana the Movie menawarkan tayangan yang menghibur karena ulah kocak Miley yang selalu membawa tawa bagi penonton. She's so witty and the movie is bloody hillarious!!

Here comes the werewolf and the human stuff

Well, the next thing I'm gonna talk about is... of course the title. I bet you've already guess what it is. Yep, the latest movie from Stephenie Meyer's famous saga, New Moon.

Right after I read a tweet from @cinema21, that the movie will be premiere in the whole theater in this country, I just, you know, wanna watch it immediately. Since I haven't used my absent quota yet, then I planned to skip the last class I got that day. It was on Wednesday and I went to the theater even before it's open. Yes, I was on the line for the tickets!! No, I'm not alone. I went with Cece but actually I supposed to go there with mbak Anty. But for some reasons, then I went with Cece.

When we arrived, many people has already stood on the line. The doors even still closed! It was about 1 hour or so before the doors open and I've never stood on the line like that for a movie, even for Twilight. It was pretty fun like that, feels like high-school moment again. When I was at high school, we gotta go so early to get the ticket before it's gone. Especially popular movies like Harry Potter, and etc. The reason why I stood on the line while we can easily buy the ticket online is because the technology apparently wasn't ready for the human non-physical attack, like 1000 people suddenly open the same page and do the exact same thing at the same period. The system might have been broken down in a sudden.

But, well, it's alright. The important thing is we got the ticket right in the premiere day while, you know, it's kinda hard to get such a chance like that. So, I'm happy :D

The movie, still I cannot say it's great. I'm still giving the same opinion as the former movie, Twilight, the movie was good. I'd like to explain why I'd prefer call it good instead of great or whatever. I don't mean to be Twilight hater or what, I just wanna be objective ;] I noticed there's a mistake about the make-up artist, I would say that the make-up artist have done it better in Twilight. The vampires skin look so smooth like a porcelain and of course pale, that's the perfect one. But in the sequel, the vampires have pores for fang's sake! I mean, shouldn't it covered by the make-up or something? And I dunno, but I saw Edward and also Carlisle looks a bit chubby in of course the cheeks. Vampires figure should be, you know, like have no fat or whatsoever. Don't have to be skinny but at least they look like a perfect body figure which is not involving fat.

Besides all of that mistakes, Jacob is a trully hottie in this movie. Sorry, Team Edward. I was and I am still in Team Edward though, but this time I'm gonna be in Team Jacob for a while ;] I'll be back when the story back on Edward :D Taylor Lautner definitely did a thing for this movie. He's a professional actor, I think. That body, err... speechless ;] Okay, I still can't buy the Original Soundtrack because I'm lack of money. The money has gone by the wind. So please somebody send me a million rupiah so I can continue my life. No, just kidding! :D Well, yeah, there're so many needs these days. Especially this month, the money is like whusss.. and my wallet is empty in a sudden. So, I need to manage the output so I can buy the CD soon... Or not. Maybe an angel from the sky send it to me. Let's hope so. AMEN! :D

And I went to Red Mango, another frozen yogurt franchise arrived in Surabaya. I went there because a friend of mine treated me for a photo design I made for her boyfriend's birthday. Okay, I went there with Cece :]



I tried a half new topping, because this time I'm back with strawberry topping and it's accompanied by brownies and colorful chocolate candy (the cashier said it's cha-cha). Froyo with brownies is just so yummy and sweet! I tried Cece's topping as well, she got almond, mango and mochi. Froyo with almond is like eating chocolate in my mouth, I dunno why. Maybe I ate too much chocolate (the candy and the brownies, remember?) so my tongue is a bit ambiguous about the taste or something haha. Overall, it was good! Oh FYI, the brownies is like cookies, it's dry. Not soft like I thought first time I saw it on the display, I doubted to try it but then I decided to just give it a try. And it was delightfully good, people!! This time I didn't try the original one, I tried strawberry flavor yogurt. Nothing different, because I used to eat this flavor for non-frozen one. I'd like to try the blueberry one but it ain't available anymore, you know, the color is just pretty tempting :D

Getting older and I hate it when, not just you gotta behave or whatever, but the problem is getting harder as well. Still correlated with behave-thingy, it's about manner and attitude. And above all those stuffs, the point is about words. I've got several problems and it's all upon the same theme: words. I just... oh I dunno what I need to say. It keeps happening while I try to promote it to everyone else. Sometimes, I wanna run to someone who doesn't know anything about my life right now. Someone I really trust and I'm sure this person is the one I save my soul to. But the thing is, I don't wanna bother this person because this problem is actually a cheesey one. Pardon my words but it's true. It's like... you said 'Grown up, people!' but in the other time you acted like a 5 years old kid. Oh come on, life wouldn't be that bad. Expressing emotion is alright, but don't lose your temper. Talking is not about one person, it's not only about you. It's about everybody else too, someone you talk to and someone who heard everything you said.

So, for anybody who read this, I beg you, do not saying a word that might hurts someone's feeling (well, unless he/she deserves it ;]). Especially to someone you love (family, bestfriends, friends, boy/girlfriend, etc.). You may be forgiven, but the words will stay remain in the person's mind AND heart. The hurt will stay although they may say 'it's okay'. I'm sorry, maybe it's just me or what, but all I know is words are way sharper than the finest sword. And I just wondering, is it just me or it's the normal way people thinking these days but I think we need to communicate our feeling so the person we meant to know our feeling will finally know. Am I correct? I think so.

I start thinking that I'm thinking like a male now, using too much left brain instead the right one (while I try to use it both all the time because I wanna write with my left hand). I mean, understanding problems. First, I definitely use my left, that's automatically so I can't control it. You know, it's about habitual kinda stuff. And then I release my feeling, which mean I use my right brain. Stuff like empathy, sympathy, self-control and friends is-I know it well-absolutely from the right side. But recently, I'm afraid I think too much like a man. What makes me afraid this much? Let me explain to you. When someone's mad at you, you can recognize it from the expression, the face (frown) and stuff. Ok, you know the person is in anger but you need to know why, right? If the person angry to you, then you need to know the reason that trigger an anger of someone, especially involving you. But what if the person didn't say a thing, what if the person just keep in silent, keep saying they're okay till you have no idea what to do to make them feel better?? You know what, I tell you; it sucks.

As far as I know, if you keep silent or less talking when you're in a bad mood/anger, it means that you wanna be alone for a while. I use it for a better way to say 'Leave me alone, people!', so I get what I want immediately. Well, usually. I need to cooling down my self for a minute so the anger will loosen and I get my self in control again, that's why I don't wanna be around people unless I don't have choice. I just don't wanna hurt them with what I might be saying in that horrible temper. So, if you just quiet about everything when you're angry, what you gonna get is you're being left by everybody. They're afraid to be around you, it's a body language of performance disapproval. What I'm gonna tell you is don't be (more) mad if you're alone in a sudden. You don't wanna say what you want then people don't know what to do to you except asking 'are you okay?' which automatically replied with 'I'm fine' plus a frown. That's not a solution, I tell you.

I'm not gonna talking about it too long, alright, I'm gonna make it short now. If you're angry or feel annoyed to someone, just say it to them not anybody else or something else. We don't use telepathy as a part of communication, we don't read minds-well, most of us. I believe we ARE conscious that we're human. We talk, we don't use animal language that we don't understand. Animals using body language, but they talk in their own way and they don't have manner of communication. We know the rule of communication, I'm sure people of Psychology know it very well. There's always a way to communicate everything, persuade and stuffs. I believe human have an ability to do that. Use the right words and if you can't choose the proper words then it's okay, it's the other person's job to understand that-to understand your feeling. That's the point of communication right? Involving 2 people, encoder and decoder. The one talks while the other listens.

Studying Psychology helps me to learn how to interact with people, because honestly I had no idea what to do with them before. You know, I've been in a dark moment and it gave me some kinda enlightenment and I meet wonderful people that make me feel better in some ways.

I'd like to quote John Mayer's song entitled "Say":

Say what you need to say...
Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You'd better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again

People have their own problems, so do I. I don't mean to teach you what's right and what's not but, well, you can take my words or just leave it. I just wanna share my thoughts. That's all.

P.S. : The Way You Make Me Feel

After a long week full of misery, I'm back into the world of joy started from Thursday. I don't care if my midterm remain 1 subject, I just don't care. Let the holiday... begins... So I went watching movie with bestfriend, mbak Anty. Yeah, one of my prayers finally come true haha. This is not an ordinary movie, I planned to watch this a long a go before the movie even premiere. The movie called "This is it". Who else? Michael Jackson. If you don't plan to watch it, put it on your schedule. If you haven't watch it yet but you plan to, go watch it then. Do not even hold your self, do it NOW! The movie was great, till I think I didn't watch a movie, I was in a concert of a megastar! He was singing like he mean it. I mean, he sang like he was doing the concert. He's awesome. In my opinion, from that movie (or that documentary movie of MJ, I think), we will know how much Michael loved his career; his music. He concerned a lot about how his performance would affect the fans and he even concerned about the future of the Earth. He used the word: L-O-V-E and I was like... adore him so much by then. He's a truly entertainer and a nice human. Oh anyway, when I watched the movie, Michael sang some songs that he thought the fans would love and YES, I love it! We love it, Michael! I hope you read this :] The music arrangement is way better than the CD we used to listen (it's copied from the old record I guess), and I can feel the beat and I wanna sing and dance with him haha. Only a true star can do that to the fans, to the people who watch him :] The concert, undoubtedly great, directed by Kenny Ortega. He's the man who use to direct a musical show. FYI, he's the director of High School Musical and the concert of Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana meet Miley Cyrus). Both works are great and always amazing in my eyes. And this time, he did it with Michael Jackson. He directed this concert with 3D effect (he did it with Miley's concert too on TV) and a theatrical scene each for "Thriller" and "Earth Song". The "Thriller" scene is super cool. They did it like the city is celebrating Halloween all day! Definitely thrilled. A little boy was screaming everytime the zombies showing their face on screen :D My fave part is when Michael sang "I just can't stop loving you" duets with his female backing vocal singer, he sang seriously like doing the concert. While, he supposed to save his voice for the concert. After the song's over, he said to the whole crew, it was wrong to sang like that, they made him sang like that and Kenny Ortega tried to explain that they didn't do anything. It was Michael who couldn't hold him self to sing perfectly like that. He was joking as a reflection of his fault! So witty! And one thing that makes me amazed until now is in the age of 50, Michael still can dance and sing in a powerful stage. He danced like his back-up dancers, just like he used to. His voice, I can't find the difference compared with the younger version of him. He just ain't change, at all. He's a great performer. I then imagine my self, if I were him in that age, I might wouldn't be that strong. His body and his stamina was just great, I should learn from him how to keep the body stay healthy and strong so I still can dance till the age of 50 or so :D I'd like to buy it, if they produced this concert in DVD/VCD. This concert is worth to be collected. Did I say 'this concert'? Yes, it was a concert for me than a movie for me. Yes, I was attending Michael's concert entitled "This is it". All hail the King!

BOLT

Film animasi yang satu ini boleh dibilang memiliki tema berbeda dibanding film-film sejenis yang seringnya menceritakan kehidupan di dunia hewan berikut kekonyolannya. Bolt menceritakan tentang persahabatan Bolt, seekor anjing German Sherperd, dan majikannya, Penny. Bolt merupakan anjing yang terlibat dalam pembuatan film serial di mana ia menjadi anjing super yang selalu melindungi tuannya, yaitu Penny. Penny mengadopsi Bolt dari sebuah pet shop dan dia menemaninya sepanjang hari. Sampai suatu ketika, dalam film diceritakan Penny diculik penjahat dan Bolt mengira Penny benar-benar diculik. Bolt tidak bisa membedakan dunia nyata dan dunia film karena seumur hidupnya ia berada dalam lingkungan film. Dan dimulailah petualangan Bolt dalam menyelamatkan Penny, sahabatnya.

Dari segi grafis, animasi film Bolt tidak kalah bagus dari film animasi lainnya. Penggambaran karakter Bolt sangat lucu terutama waktu Bolt masih kecil :D

Selain karena dubber terdiri dari Miley Cyrus (Penny) and Chris Evans (Bolt) of course ;], menurut saya film ini menceritakan hubungan yang essential antara manusia dengan hewan peliharaannya. Maybe I'm a bit subjective but it's true. Especially for dogs, it gets worse when you lose a dog. Because dog is a loyal pet, they will love you when you love them too. So does Bolt.

I watched this movie with my lil brother and we both love Bolt. I wanna have a Bolt! :D And I'm wondering if there's a real story about a dog like Bolt, loyal to his person and it's just great. I even cried when Bolt was replaced by another dog at the movie because he's gone 'looking for' Penny outside the studio. He saw Penny 'looks' love her new dog that looks like Bolt, it was a movie scene actually but Bolt was behind the shadow to realize that.

Film ini memberikan banyak pelajaran mengenai bagaimana seharusnya kita memperlakukan hewan peliharaan kita (atau hewan manapun). Because sometimes animal can be hurt. It teaches you that animal can be so nice to you, if you treat them right. Just like human. So, if you own a pet (any kind of pet), treat it well. And trust me, they even can protect you more than a human can do.

Push

Film yang berlokasi di Hongkong ini bercerita tentang sekelompok orang yang ingin terbebas dari ancaman satu organisasi bernama Division. Kenapa? Karena mereka adalah orang-orang yang memiliki kekuatan super dan Division berniat mengawasi segala kegiatan mereka. Namun, saat sebuah eksperimen untuk menghilangkan kekuatan itu dilakukan, subjek yang digunakan dalam eksperimen tersebut melarikan diri.

Sementara itu, Nick Gant (Chris Evans), seorang "telekinetic" (bisa menggerakkan benda dengan lambaian tangannya) mendadak didatangi orang Division (dua orang "pusher") dan ditanyai tentang seorang gadis yang membawa tas, yang mana gadis itu adalah subjek eksperimen yang melarikan diri. Division mengincar tas tersebut karena apa yang ada di dalam tas itu bisa menjatuhkan organisasi mereka. Otomatis Nick bingung karena tidak mengerti apa yang terjadi, sampai datanglah Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), seorang "watcher" (bisa melihat masa depan, memvisualisasikannya dengan gambar) yang kemudian menjadi partner Nick untuk menyelamatkan diri dari bahaya karena menjadi tempat di mana gadis itu nantinya bernaung.

Secara keseluruhan, film ini termasuk dalam kategori sangat bagus, menurut saya. Dari segi angle pengambilan gambar, color tone gambar dan efek kamera yang digunakan sangat variatif sehingga selain nonton film saya seperti melihat slideshow foto-foto yang bergerak. Awesome!

Trus soundtrack-nya juga super duper keren!! Sejauh saya nonton filmnya sih hehe. Mau download kalo udah beredar di dunia maya :D

Satu yang tidak saya suka dari film ini adalah pemeran Kira Hudson, Camilla Belle. Menurut saya, sosok Kira Hudson sebagai agen Division, partner agen Henry Carver dan pacar Nick terlihat terlalu muda. Mungkin seharusnya sosok ini diisi oleh aktris yang memiliki usia sama dengan pemeran Nick dan kelihatan seperti seorang wanita, bukan gadis. Camilla Belle cocok menjadi subjek yang sekarat karena eksperimen tapi tidak sebagai agen Division, pacar Nick dan terutama partner Henry Carver. Too young for a grown up woman.

Favorit saya selain penampilan visual film adalah akting Dakota Fanning yang cukup memukau, Dakota bisa memerankan karakter yang begitu kuat meskipun usianya masih muda. Yah, pengalaman akting bertahun-tahun telah membentuk kemampuan yang demikian menakjubkan. Jadi nggak sabar ngelihat dia jadi Jane :]

The Good and The Bad News

It's pretty hectic recently. What? My LIFE for God's sake!

My college's assignments was like... HELL. Oh, I just need some break pleeeaaseee. Start from observation (I did an observation about hospitality of J.Co's waiters with my bestfella, Anty), presentations, preparing any paper for doing some research and observation in the end of this semester. Ugh, it's kinda frustrating!

And I have to admit that this semester is the most hectic semester through all my time in college. I've never been this busy. For real. I feel soooo tired, cognitively, mentally, and physically.

There's one subject that sucking up almost all my time and my mind, and even my vocabulary! I spent almost all my time for 4 days sitting in front of my laptop browsing a scientific journal and on the last day I translated a journal from my lecturer for my paper presentation because I have no idea what the heck that journal said unless I translate it first to Indonesian. And my tools was laptop (of course), my Dad's dictionary, the fuckin scientific journal, and a cup of cold syrup (because it was a hot day). And I finally translated 3 pages, for hours (almost a day) because I took sooo many breaks. It was a tough fight anyway, I gotta deal with a boring stuff and keep stick to it for a long time. And I'm still alive till the second I wrote this post :]

Well, I'm gonna do some visits to some schools for my college's project. Well, basically you can choose any places but all my theme problems are located at school and I gotta admit school setting is always easy :]

After all those shitty stuffs, I went watching movie with my besties this Monday at Sutos (Surabaya Town Square). Some of us watched Valkyrie and the others watched Push. I was the one in team Push because I'm not really into war movie and I love super-hero movies like HEROES, X-Men, Fantastic Four and so on. So...

Well, Push is a great movie in my opinion. You can read my review here. I'm gonna talk about something interesting me on that movie. What else, wardrobe!! Yup, I'll point my finger on Cassie's wardrobe and Kira's wardrobe.

Cassie Holmes:
It's like a mix of Harajuku Girl vs New York Chick. Rebel, grunge, unique (with all those pink hair-extentions and mini-skirt), and chic. I love the boots and the jacket she wore :]

Kira Hudson:
It's just on the a couple first scenes, when she wore a cute white mini dress and a dark torquise cardigan. Pretty sweet and chic. Love it! It might be better with a black legging and a black moccasin ankle-boots :] Forgive me for the bad scenes I took, I can't find another pics that look better than that. It's always her scenes with the black blazer.


And then, I love the drawings that Cassie's made. It's unique, cute and amazing. Very interesting to try!

Camp Rock

Penantian berbulan-bulan akhirnya berakhir sudah! Saya kesampaian nonton Camp Rock juga. Film yang sedikit berbau pesimistis dari para pemerannya ini (gara-gara nggak yakin bisa ngalahin HSM yang super heboh!) ternyata aslinya keren banget! Ya meski akting Jo Bro bisa dibilang nggak begitu bagus tapi pemeran utama wanitanya, Mitchie (Demi Lovato), berakting dengan cukup baik.

Well, apa sih yang bagus banget dari film ini? Oke, saya kasih tau ya. Karena ini film semi musikal, jadi ya adegan-adegan dengan menari berhasil memukau saya sampe histeris sendiri. Apalagi suara Joe Jonas yang keren banget itu! (Aaaawwwwwww...!!!), ditambah lagi waktu duet bareng Demi Lovato: super-duper-cool!!!

Film ini bercerita tentang Mitchie yang ingin sekali ikut Camp Rock untuk mengisi libur musim panasnya. Ia mengalami kendala karena orangtuanya tidak punya biaya untuk mengikutkannya dalam kegiatan itu. Tapi, keberuntungan berpihak padanya sehingga ia akhirnya bisa menunjukkan bakatnya yang luar biasa dalam menyanyi di depan para peserta Camp Rock lainnya. Tema ceritanya sangat sederhana, bahkan terkesan terlalu naif. Diceritakan mengenai seseorang yang berusaha membangun imej baru tentang dirinya dan setengah mati menjaganya supaya bisa disukai orang lain (tentu aja imej yang berhubungan dengan materi).

Overall, nggak nyesel deh penantian lama buat nonton film ini. Enjoy watching!

A very incredible movie I've ever seen. This movie talked about a world issue: racism in United States. Film yang diproduseri oleh pemain utamanya sendiri, Hilary Swank ini berdasarkan kisah nyata. Ceritanya diangkat dari diary murid-murid ruang 203 Woodrow Wilson High School. Bersetting di sebuah kota di Amerika bernama Long Beach dan berlangsung pada tahun 1994, ketika seorang guru baru hasil pertukaran (volunteer integration) dari New Port Beach dipindahkan ke Wilson. Named Erin Gruwell, an English teacher who brought a change in class 203. Pada saat itu, peperangan antar geng yang mengatasnamakan ras terjadi di mana-mana. Baku tembak, perkelahian antar geng sampai kerusuhan massal merupakan hal biasa yang terjadi. Alasannya sederhana saja, perebutan teritori (wilayah) untuk mempertahankan kehidupan dan kehormatan bangsa (masing-masing).

Talking about teritory, somehow it sounds like inhuman. Sehingga pertemuan pertama kelas bahasa Inggris di mana Ms.Gruwell mengajar pun menjadi ricuh karena beragamnya ras yang ada di dalamnya; Latino, Afro-American, White, Chinese, Cambodian, Jewish. Menurut mereka, it's better when the other race doesn't share the same place with another. Ms.Gruwell mencoba menengahi namun malah mendapat penolakan karena dianggap 'you know nothing about us' bahkan seorang murid kulit hitam meneriakinya 'Stop acting like you understand our situation!'. Ms.Gruwell tidak menyerah begitu saja, ia terus berusaha menjalankan tugasnya sebagai guru bahasa Inggris dengan baik sekaligus menyatukan murid-muridnya yang berasal dari beragam ras dengan memberikan sebuah jurnal yang hanya berupa sebuah buku tulis sederhana pada masing-masing murid di mana mereka bisa menuliskan apapun di sana.

Banyak pihak yang memandang upaya mulianya ini dengan tatapan pesimis. Di luar itu, Erin Gruwell harus dihadapkan pada kenyataan bahwa ia tidak mendapat dukungan dari suami tercintanya (diperankan oleh Patrick Dempsey, yeah that man from Grey's Anatomy) dan memintanya untuk bercerai. Bagaimana Erin G. bisa bertahan sementara dukungan untuknya nyaris tidak ada? Tidak dari suaminya, bahkan pihak sekolah sendiri.

Film yang disponsori oleh MTV ini memang tidak memenangkan sebuah nominasi Oscar sekalipun mengusung tema yang sama seperti film peraih Piala Oscar, Crash. Tapi, konflik, peristiwa dan penekanan nilai-nilai kebenarannya lebih mendalam bahkan ada poin penyelesaiannya. Apa yang dilakukan Ms.G tidak terbatas pada perubahan pada diri murid-murid di kelas 203, namun berdampak pada keluarga murid-murid tersebut di mana efek yang didapat bernilai positif. Lebih besar lagi, bersama murid-muridnya, Erin G. mendirikan yayasan penulis dengan mengangkat semangat yang sama ketika berada di kelas 203 dan ditujukan untuk seluruh siswa di Amerika. Erin Gruwell kemudian memutuskan untuk meninggalkan Wilson dan mengajar di California State University di kota yang sama.

Step Up 2: the Streets

This is better! Well, after I watched Step Up (just right before the sequel), I know it's gonna be better than the old one. More cool dance moves and hip songs. That was great, yanno!

Yeah, I know I'm kinda too late for watching this movie because it was so last year or whatever. But the thing is, it's a great movie after all.

Like I said, it is better. Penulis cerita membuat plot yang lebih kaya dan menarik tentunya. Dengan sejumlah dance scenes yang--menurut saya--keren banget, I gotta say that this movie is the best dance movie I've ever watched :]

Menempatkan dua aktor yang juga merupakan penari yang hebat membuat film ini semakin sempurna. Briana (pemeran Andie West) dan Robert (pemeran Chase Collin) memperagakan gerakan-gerakan menari dengan sangat baik (in my opinion, underlined that!). They're just awesome!

Well, maybe I'd better stop talkin shits now and make you watch it by your self. I bet you won't be sorry I make you do that :]

Alright, here's a lil summary about the movie. In case you curious about the story.

Step Up 2: The Streets menceritakan tentang seorang cewek bernama Andie West yang terpaksa masuk sekolah seni, Maryland School of Arts (MSA) karena hanya itulah pilihan yang ia punya kalau ingin tetap tinggal di tempat asalnya (Baltimore) dan bisa hangout dengan teman-temannya dalam crew, 41O. Itupun atas saran dari seorang cowok yang sudah ia anggap seperti kakak sendiri, Taylor Gage (Step Up), yang sudah lebih dulu bersekolah di situ. Considering both of them have the same passion of dancing, maka Ty mengajukan pilihan itu pada Sarah (teman Ibu Andie yang selama ini mengasuhnya sejak sang ibu meninggal) supaya Andie yang bandel tidak dikirim ke Texas untuk tinggal bersama tantenya. Awalnya, Andie skeptis sekali akan kehidupannya di sekolah baru yang tampak elit itu. Namun, semenjak ia dikeluarkan dari 41O dan membentuk kru sendiri bersama cowok populer di MSA, Chase Collin, Andie seolah menemukan jati dirinya dan merasa dipercaya oleh banyak orang.

Dan seperti film pendahulunya, Step Up 2 juga diakhiri dengan dance scene yang SUPERCOOL!

Chronicle of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Masih dibintangi aktor-aktor yang sama seperti sekuel sebelumnya, Narnia kali ini menawarkan petualangan baru bagi keempat Pevensie bersaudara. Dalam film ini, dikisahkan Peter, Susan, Edmund dan Lucy sudah menjalani setahun kehidupan di Inggris dan mereka pun mulai beradaptasi dengan kehidupan mereka yang sesungguhnya. Namun, ketika terompet Narnia ditiup oleh seseorang, mereka pun harus dihadapkan pada kenyataan bahwa Narnia tengah memanggil mereka kembali ke tanah kerajaan.

Masih juga melibatkan peperangan antar dua kubu, kali ini Narnia harus berperang melawan bangsa Tamerine yang telah merebut tanah kekuasaan Narnia seribu tahun lalu. Ketika Raja dan Ratu mereka mendadak menghilang karena kembali ke dunianya. Belum lagi konflik internal dalam kerajaan Tamerine, seorang pangeran yang melarikan diri karena akan dibunuh pamannya yang ingin menggantikan tahta sang pangeran dengan putranya sendiri yang baru saja lahir ke dunia. Prince Caspian pun akhirnya harus menerima kenyataan bahwa bangsa Narnia itu masih ada dan tidak seburuk dan sejahat perkiraan leluhurnya yang terdahulu.

Sekuel ini menampilkan view yang cantik sekali dibandingkan film pendahulunya. Mulai pantai pasir putih dengan air laut yang jernih dan reruntuhan istana yang begitu indah dengan tanaman-tanaman merambat yang menggantung di sana-sini. Somehow saya melihatnya bukan seperti tempat yang mengerikan seperti kebanyakan reruntuhan bangunan kuno, saya salut banget sama penata cahaya dan editornya yang membuat scene di bagian itu kelihatan seperti cerita dongeng kuno yang cantik.

Dan selain peperangan, persaingan dan sebagainya itu masih ada sedikit kisah romance antara Prince Caspian dan Susan yang kini sudah tumbuh dewasa. Well, kalau nantinya ada kelanjutan dari film ini, saya ingin lihat kelanjutan kisah cinta mereka. Saya nggak setuju gitu waktu Peter dan Susan memutuskan nggak kembali lagi ke Narnia, karena menurut saya mereka Narnian yang sampai kapanpun akan kembali ketika Narnia membutuhkan mereka.

Secara keseluruhan sih, nggak ada yang perlu dikritik dari film ini menurut saya. Kecuali rambut Lucy yang selalu kelihatan lurus rapi sekalipun habis tertiup angin sekalipun. Seharusnya dibiarkan natural saja seperti Susan dan yang lainnya. Aneh aja ngelihat setiap pergantian frame rambutnya yang tadinya agak messy, mendadak rapi kembali kayak habis dicatok.

Hmm yang jelas saya benar-benar terhibur sama sekuel film yang dari film pertama ini nggak mengecewakan, meskipun saya belum baca bukunya :]

Mamma Mia!

Satu lagi film musikal yang saya tonton, Mamma Mia menawarkan view yang juga cantik selain adegan menyanyi dan menari yang ditonjolkan dalam film ini. Dibintangi aktris senior Meryl Streep yang bikin siapa aja menganga takjub melihat aktingnya yang luar biasa.

Mamma Mia mengisahkan Sophie (Amanda Seyferd) yang hendak menikah dengan pacarnya Sky di usia 20 tahun, ia ingin mengetahui identitas ayahnya yang sampai sekarang pun belum ia ketahui karena ibunya sendiri, Donna (Meryl Streep), juga tidak yakin siapa di antara ketiga mantan pacarnya yang telah menghamilinya. Sophie pun mengundang ketiganya; Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry dan Bill, untuk menghadiri pesta pernikahannya tanpa sepengetahuan ibunya. Sophie beranggapan bahwa ia akan segera mengetahui yang mana ayahnya di antara ketiga pria mantan pacar ibunya itu begitu ia melihatnya. Apakah Sophie akhirnya tau siapa ayahnya yang sebenarnya? Dan kenapa Donna malah merasakan dilema ketika bertemu salah satu dari mereka?

Film yang sampai akhir tahun 2008 lalu jadi Box Office di Inggris ini memang patut diacungi jempol. Menggunakan lagu-lagu lama milik ABBA yang dinyanyikan ulang oleh pemeran-pemerannya, seolah lirik lagu-lagu tersebut merupakan bagian dari percakapan yang terjadi. Seru banget pokoknya nonton film komedi-romantis yang dibintangi beberapa aktor besar ini!

Movie Marathon

Well, this is the first thing I did on my holy-holiday. I rented some movies that I wanted to watch months a go because I didn't have much time to watch them. Then I decided to make a list about the movies I gotta rent right when I got my holiday in hand. And now, it's right on my palm hand.

I rent three movies at once. It was Golden Compass, Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Mamma Mia! Actually I planned to rent Camp Rock, Narnia: Prince Caspian, Mamma Mia! and Step Up for my first week of holiday. But apparently I wasn't lucky at the time so I didn't get my list fulfilled.

Alright I'm gonna give you some shits about the move then. Let see, Golden Compass and Narnia is kinda similar in some ways. You know, it's a fantasy movie and sort of fairy tale stuff or whatever. And for Narnia especially, well, it's quite too many pretty (and cute!!) guys for a fantasy movie, isn't it? :] But, that's OKAY.

FYI, I watched Narnia right after Golden Compass. And I'm kinda surprised that the Prince Caspian would be that charming (that's what the prince does, rite?) on that movie :D And Peter and Edmund, they've been grown up and they look adorable. I love the scene when Peter and Prince Caspian stand in front of the huge ice blocks where they both hypnotized by the evil queen who I forget her name. They got the same feeling and they made the same mistake. And it's kinda cool when a cute king and a charming prince stand together and realized that they want the same thing which they've been argued about since they first met.

And now about Golden Compass, I'm kinda scared when I heard that polar bear did the roar thing. Polar bear should be cute and cuddling, not scary. Well, I know if that happens in the real animal world but still, it scares me. And about the little girl, she's kinda too smart for a little kid I guess. I mean, the words she said is too adult-thing for a little girl. Well, I'd prefer say that it sounds too clever for a dunno-nothing-about-the-world girl. And Nicole Kidman, WOW, I've never seen her played the antagonist part. Even though I don't feel her played the part as a bad man, she's great still.

Then, the last one, MammaMia! After the bombastic High School Musical, Hairspray, Across the Universe and now this. Well, I have to say that Meryl Streep did her best in this movie. I mean, it's quite hard for a woman in her age. The dancing, the singing and of course the acting (the last point is her hobby I believe) is kinda too hard to do when you get older. She's the greatest actress I've ever seen. And Amanda Seyferd is kinda good too :]

And do you know what's the similiarity between Narnia above and MammaMia? Both setting is including beautiful blue ocean, it said river in Narnia but river doesn't have white sands on the sides. So, I think it was the ocean or sea. The oceans are clear, torquise, tempting and the view is really charming. Well, at least it charmed me :]

Well, from all those movies I rented on my holiday, I found something interesting. Actually it's the movie property from Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. No, not the Prince Caspian. It's the wardrobe anyway. The dress that Lucy wore when they first got back to the Narnia, yes the uniform. It's a must have item of today on my closet. And there's another one, it's the students bag, the vintage sling bag for school. I wanna have it too!!!

Alright, I can't wait what I can do next week. Well, I got some plans actually but I don't know. Based on my experience, plans change. So just go with the flow, right? Did I mention that this is my holiday? Exactly.

Another Cinderella Story

Directed by Damon Santostefano

Staring: Selena Gomez, Drew Seeley, Jane Lynch

Emang sih ceritanya klasik banget, apalagi kalo bukan remake dongeng lama jaman anak-anak dulu: Cinderella. Cuma bedanya, yang ini udah dipoles ke jaman modern yang Pangerannya adalah seorang teen idol bernama Joey Parker (Drew Seeley) dan 'cinderella'-nya adalah Mary Santiago (Selena Gomez) yang tinggal bersama ibu angkatnya yang seorang diva yang popularitasnya mulai meredup bernama Dominique Blatt (Jamie Lynch).

Nggak ketinggalan duo stepsister yang 'setia menghiasi' hari-hari Mary si cinderella. Cinderella versi modern tentu mengingatkan kita pada film serupa berjudul A Cinderella's Story yang dibintangi Hilary Duff dan Chad Michael Murray, di film itu Sam 'the cinderella' meninggalkan cellphone (instead of a glass slipper). Nah, kalo film yang satu ini, cinderella alias Mary meninggalkan Zune-nya (pemutar musik portable) di lantai dansa usai berdansa dengan si pangeran alias Joey Parker.

Film yang ternyata produksi WarnerBross ini (kirain Disney lho awalnya!) memasang duo cewek-cowok yang mungkin bisa dibandingin sama duet Troy-Grabriella HSM, mengingat keduanya besar melalui Disney Kingdom. Bahkan Selena Gomez, pemeran Mary, dikabarkan merupakan the Next Miley Cyrus yang menurut saya salah besar. Melihat akting Selena Gomez yang sebelumnya main di TV series berjudul Wizard of Waverly Place, membuat saya berpikir bahwa dia punya sesuatu yang Miley nggak punya. She can dance even better than the girls in HSM. Ada adegan di mana dia harus battle dengan pemeran Joey, Drew Seeley dan saya sempat berpikir saya sedang nonton Step Up, bukannya film bertema cinderella-thing. Pokoknya seru banget nonton film yang udah saya tunggu-tunggu sejak pertama kali lihat trailer-nya di Disney Channel berbulan-bulan yang lalu. Puas lah! Disney emang nggak pernah ngecewain penontonnya.

Twilight The Movie

Staring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Nikki Reed, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz

Diangkat dari novel best-seller karya Stephenie Meyer, Twilight bercerita tentang kisah romance plus heroic antara seorang manusia dan seorang vampir. Definitely forbidden love. Versi filmnya pun dibuat tak lama setelah bukunya menjadi perbincangan di mana-mana. Dibintangi oleh Kirsten Stewart (Panic Room) sebagai Isabella Swan dan Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) sebagai Edward Cullen the dazzling vampire. Film pertama dari keempat seri ini menceritakan tentang perjuangan Edward menyelamatkan Bella dari serangan vampir yang non-vegetarian seperti dirinya dan keluarga Cullen, James. 

What I didn't like about the movie is I wish there're more fogs, darker and more gray on set. Just like Harry Potter I guess, kinda magic-mystic movie so I think the setting would be look a like. Because that's the point I got after I read the book. Selain itu, sejumlah scenes yang mengkorelasikan cerita dihilangkan sehingga saya yang udah baca bukunya malah bingung nonton filmnya. Saya nggak tahu gimana kesan orang yang belum baca bukunya tapi udah nonton filmnya, apakah bingung juga kayak saya atau gimana (lil Alya said it was a good movie). Karena banyak banget adegan yang kesannya tiba-tiba tanpa ada latar belakang yang mendasarinya. But overall, I agree with lil Alya, it's a good movie though. Soundtrack-nya keren (Paramore, emang TOP deh!), pemainnya juga mendukung. Kerenlah!

Next obsession: buy the DVD!

Silence of the Lamb

Film thriller yang dibintangi Jodie Foster (yang mirip Lindsay Lohan hehe!) ini emang tergolong film lama, tapi kualitasnya bisa menandingi film-film thriller populer bertema psycho macam seri Saw ataupun Psycho. Film ini mengisahkan tentang seorang detektif wanita bernama Clarice

(Jodie Foster) yang mendapatkan tugas untuk mewawancarai seorang dokter yang ditahan di rumah sakit jiwa karena merupakan seorang psikopat bernama Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). Tantangan demi tantangan dia lakukan demi memecahkan kasus pembunuhan yang dilakukan oleh psikopat buron bernama Bufallo Bill yang menculik dan menguliti wanita-wanita bertubuh gemuk, yang mana psikopat itu adalah mantan pasien Dr.Lecter. 

Clarice bahkan harus mengorbankan kenangan pahitnya diungkit lagi ketika mencoba mencari informasi mengenai Bill dari Dr.Lecter. Banyak sekali hal-hal yang bisa kita pelajari dari film ini, salah satunya yaitu mengenal bagaimana seorang psikopat itu sebenarnya. Ada satu hal yang menarik perhatian saya, Clarice diharuskan selalu bersikap sopan ketika mewawancarai Dr.Lecter, sehingga ia akan mudah mendapatkan informasi. Dan pada akhirnya dia memang mendapatkan apa yang dia butuhkan meski harus bersusah payah mengoreknya melalui sejumlah teka-teki yang diberikan Dr.Lecter.
